01.

I offer individual mental health counseling to a variety of populations. I specialize in working with adolescents and have been doing so for well over 10 years. I have experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Counseling, Hypnotherapy, and more. I work with Clients on identifying realistic goals, processing trauma, rebuilding self-esteem, building coping skills, etc.

I work with families on helping to rebuild family dynamics and assist in some of the growth and change within families. Sometimes there are past experiences families hang on to and need assistance in working through these to build a better family dynamic and increase communication among family members. I have worked with a variety of family dynamics including assisting on relationships between parents and children, siblings, and more. My goal is to assist the family in rebuilding healthy boundaries and realistic expectations and working through some of the challenges.

I enjoy working with couples in therapy to help them overcome some of the challenges that can come up in a relationship. Sometimes couples therapy involves a history unrelated to the current relationship (past traumatic relationships) and sometimes it involves working with the challenges present in the current relationship (infidelity, intimacy issues, premarital counseling, growing family or pregnancy, loss of a child, addiction, domestic violence, etc). Ultimately my goal is to assist couples in identifying what each of their goals in their relationship are and helping them find a balance to increase communication and ensure both parties have a voice.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology earned in 2013 and I have a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling earned in 2015. For over ten years I have been working with all age ranges struggling with a variety of mental health issues, including cognitive, affective, and behavioral conditions. I spent one year working at a residential facility that assisted adolescents who were struggling with substance abuse. For over four years I worked for the Children’s Farm Home, Trillium Family Services, (a juvenile residential mental health facility) and attended numerous trainings on trauma informed care, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, collaborative problem solving, suicide awareness and prevention, motivational interviewing, and anxiety disorders. I worked as a mental health counselor in a psychiatric hospital for over a year, doing individual counseling and group therapy for a variety of clients. For the past 10 years I have been working with Adults in Custody as a mental health counselor, aiding those struggling with a wide range of concerns (severe mental illness, substance use disorders, gender dysphoria, serious suicide attempts, bereavement, etc.). I first started doing private practice, individual psychotherapy, in 2018 and have enjoyed working with a wide range of clients in the community. I enjoy working with clients individually, families, and couples.

In the Summer of 2020, I attended Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy, and started my journey as a Hypnotherapist. Hypnotherapy can aid in a variety of concerns, including substance use concerns, weight concerns, traumas, anxiety, depression, and more. In 2024 I was trained and certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
